Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Tonicc account and the data attached to it. Tonicc is published by Tonicc; the app is listed on Google Play and the App Store under that name.

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and it needs no request from us:

1. Open Tonicc and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete account.

The account and its data are removed straight away. There is no waiting period and no undo.

If you cannot sign in

Email hello@tonicc.app from the address the account was created with, with the subject Delete my account. We verify that the address matches an account, delete it, and confirm by reply. We do this within 30 days of the request, and normally much sooner.

If you no longer control that email address, tell us and we will ask for something else that identifies the account. We cannot delete an account we are unable to match to the person asking.

What is deleted

Deleting the account removes it and everything keyed to it:

• your profile, questionnaire answers and preferences;
• every scan and its result, including your reads and progress history;
• your plan and routine, the products on it, and your check-off history;
• your shelf, reminders and notification tokens;
• your weekly reviews and any saved product picks;
• your login credentials and sessions.

Your face photos are not part of this list because we do not keep them in the first place: they are held only while the scan is being analysed and are deleted as soon as your result is produced. See the Biometric Data Policy.

What we keep, and for how long

Billing records. Invoices and payment records are kept for the period tax and accounting law requires, and are also held by the payment provider and by the app store you bought through. They are financial records, not profile data, and deleting the account does not remove them.

Your consent record. The fact that you consented to the Biometric Data Policy, when, and to which version, is kept as legal proof for as long as the law requires.

Anonymised data. Aggregate figures that can no longer be linked to you or to any device are kept. They contain no personal data.

Backups. Deletion is immediate in the live database. Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule and the deleted data is gone from them within 7 days. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.

Deleting the app is not the same thing

Removing Tonicc from your phone does not delete your account or your data - it only removes the app. Use the steps above, or email us, if you want the account gone.

A subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store is managed by that store: cancel it there. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription, and cancelling a subscription does not delete your account.
